Midwest State Reporter Project: Social Studies We have started research on the State Projects. Each student has found some information for their individual state. They have a good concept of what their research should contain. They are to follow the outline as they continue their research. They will continue to assume they are reporters, and take a “social scientist” viewpoint of their focused state. They are to report factual details about the Midwest state they have chosen and explain how the ecomony, geography, politics and history have changed over time. Report Requirements: The report must include the following:
We will continue our research in class. I will continue to clarify during our lessons how the research can best be completed. Our social studies books, and primary resources from the school library can also be used. As stated before the majority of the work must be done at home, which includes visiting your local library and Google: Kid Facts About “Your State Name”. This report will be due on: Tuesday, January 31, 2017. This report will be researched and detailed at home. There will be some in-class time for this report however; the expectation is for you to work on it at home over the next few weeks to develop a well researched State Reporter Project. Publishing: It is preferred that your report is typed. It must have a title page that includes: Your name, a title, and a date (a picture is optional). These items must be centered on the title page. Proper conventions (capitalization and punctuation) as well as sentence structure and grammar are expected. Be creative – include images where needed to enhance your overall project. The body of your report must be a minimum of two (2) full pages. | Wed. Jan. 11, 2017 |
