Midwest State Reporter Project: Social Studies helps us learn about history, geography, population, economy, politics and technology around the United States and the World. Social studies also give us facts about how these key areas have changed over time. Assume you are a reporter. Your project is to take a “social scientist” viewpoint of your focused state. You are to report factual details about the Midwest state you have chosen and explain how the above key areas have changed over time. Report Requirements: Your report must include the following:
Through the next several weeks, you will be learning about the Midwest region of the United States. The course lectures, social studies books, and primary resources from the school library can be used to research your focused state. You must also do research at home which includes visiting your local library and Google: Kid Facts About “Your State Name”. Time Management: This report will be due on: Tuesday, January 31, 2017. This report will be researched and detailed at home. There will be some in-class time for this report however; the expectation is for you to work on it at home over the next few weeks to develop a well researched State Reporter Project. Publishing: It is preferred that your report is typed. It must have a title page that includes: Your name, a title, and a date (a picture is optional). These items must be centered on the title page. Proper conventions (capitalization and punctuation) as well as sentence structure and grammar are expected. Be creative – include images where needed to enhance your overall project.
